Rhymes, rhymes, everywhere.
Mike Lombardo gives a little tutorial on how rhyming works in songwriting, then goes on to show how rap music has changed from its early days, when only the last word in each line rhymed, to now, where Eminem tends to rhyme nearly every word in his songs.
Definitely a cool video to check out, if not to help appreciate the rap genre just a little more.

The End of the Year Approaches
The end of the school year is approaching very quickly. Just an 8-page paper and a Computer Science project stand between me and academic freedom.
Of course then I'll still have to work so that I'm not homeless. My hours at work will be getting cut back some, but hopefully I won't have to find a second job.
This has been such an eventful year. I don't even know how to write about it all in a single blog post.
I just cannot wait until I can have some free time in the summer and just be able to sit back and enjoy life. This past year has been "go, go, go" and I've had hardly any time to myself.
I've forgotten what it's like to sit and know that I have no assignments to do, no work to do that day, no appointments or events, just time to sit and breathe.

Vodka Infused Gummi Bear Update #2
So, I decided to eat some of my tasty gummi bears the other night and here's what happened.
I ate 14 gummi bears.
In my defense, they had been sitting in a vodka/juice concoction and were sort of slimy. They tasted fine, though I didn't eat enough to feel any effects of the alcohol *sadface*
I think if I ate enough gummi bears to feel a buzz I would also be sick from eating too many gummi bears.
In order to compensate for this utter failure I did the responsible thing and just drank some vodka. With orange pop, I'm not a Russian. Then I took my girlfriend and my puppy and went to my friend's party and drank some more vodka (free vodka, the best kind).
Final conclusion: Vodka Infused Gummi Bears are a fun, tasty snack for when one is drinking, but they aren't enough by themselves.
I would still recommend them, especially is you are throwing a party, or just because they are fun to make.

Vodka Infused Gummi Bear Update #1.5
Sorry I haven't updated you all about the Vodka Gummis! It's been a pretty hectic week, very busy, and not many nights I can afford to be drunk.
I'll hopefully post something Monday, since I plan on eating most of the gummis tomorrow night. Maybe I'll post right after I eat them!
Either way, I expect it to be a lot of fun, and an innovative way to drink.
For the record, I used 2 6.5oz tubs of bears, so it's not an incredibly huge amount, and I used pretty crappy vodka, but it is vodka, and I will be ingesting it, so hilarity should ensue.
Check back within a couple days for the update.

Vodka Infused Gummi Bear Update #1
So, last night it seemed that the gummi bears had absorbed nearly all of the vodka, so I decided it was time to put in the fruit punch. I followed the directions in the article -- mostly, I think I added too much juice, and set it back in the fridge overnight.
Just now I checked on them to stir them up a bit, and about half of the juice had been absorbed as well. It seems the timeline in the article might be a little off.
Anyways, the real point of this? A gummi bear fell out of the container and onto the counter. Oh no, I should put it back in the container, right? I was going to. Really. But it just looked so tasty.
And it was. It tasted like a regular gummi bear, couldn't taste any vodka at all.
I'll make an epic update when I throw back about 40 or 50 of them and tell you how they work.

Vodka Infused Gummi Bears
I ran across this article a couple days ago and decided to go buy myself some Gummi Bears, because I've already got all the necessary vodka :)
You basically soak the gummi bears in vodka and they'll absorb it all in just a few days, providing you with a tasty snack that will provide lots of entertainment. Just stick it in the fridge and stir it around a couple times a day. This article also recommended pouring in some frozen fruit concentrate once the vodka is absorbed because the alcohol taste tends to be quite strong.
I think I'll be trying out at least a few bears tomorrow night and I'll definitely keep you updated. Come back in a couple of days and I'll tell you how awesome it is.

My thoughts on The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card
I just finished this book today, and I can't wait for the sequels. That's the only thing I hate about reading a new book.
It's basically about a kid who is from a line of gods -- they're the ones who all the mythologies are based on, only their powers have been diluted over the centuries while they've been trapped on Earth.
Everyone thinks he doesn't have any affinity for magic, until he finds himself in a place that he couldn't possibly have gotten to on his own. He's a gatemage, and possibly the strongest ever, except that gatemagery is forbidden, and anyone who's born a gatemage is killed.
This is where the simliarities to Jumper started. The kid can teleport, runs away from home, falls in with the bad crowd, etc.
Even with those slight misgivings, The Lost Gate was a fun read, and I can't wait for the sequels.
